We are, as a species, addicted to story. Even when the body goes to sleep, the mind stays up all night, telling itself stories.

I like a guy who won’t admit he still likes his ex, but he has no problem ignoring me to hangout with her after leading me on for months. I’m mad at him and all, but nearly as mad as I am at myself for liking him and getting mad at him. I really really need to sit down and have a talk with my heart and my emotions and my brain for getting me into all these heartache situations. Ugh

Every time I say a likely-male name in conversation, my mom asks 20 questions about him with the last one being, “why don’t you date him?” proceeded by lamentations of how she’s never going to get grandbabies. Thanks Mom
